In this, my time of passing
I leave you, not in tears
But, with a heart of joy, amassing
Memories of years

How dear was life when living
How full the days that passed
God’s gift was in the giving
and my blesséd role was cast

He chose you all to be my friends
and loving family
Some times were sweet,
Some saddened ends
Still, all were gifts to me

Devoted mother, loving wife
A sister, friend and guide
A woman faced with challenge, rife
With faith, did i abide

I treasured every single day
I loved you all, each one
I worked at living in God’s way
The way great souls have done

I gave my all, best as i could
I aided those in need
And in my heart, i understood
the value of each deed

I loved without condition
I loved beyond all bound
Because it was my mission
to share the joy I’d found

I lived life fully, every day
God granted every prayer
Believe me, when i say
it was a privilege to share

My days of living life with you
Who hear my words right now
Oh, yes this angel in your view
Will keep a holy vow

To guide and keep you
in your ways
For now I live above
And as you live thru all your days
I’ll bless you with my love

Yes, there is rest and peace
Dear ones
In heaven, my new home
And after pain, there is release
After life’s work is done

Until that day, so far away
Remember I was here
Please keep me in your memory
As i will keep yours, dear

My earthly life now closes,
With all trials faced and won
Now, I live in yellow roses
and wide blue skies filled with sun

So everytime you look above
And see the sun shine thru
Please know I’m sending all my love
And shining down on you

Today, I’m celebrating the birth of my favorite poet, Isidore Lucien Ducasse, more famously known as, Le Comte de Lautréamont. During his life, he completed writing only one complete book, but oh what a book it was!

Entitled “Les Chants de Maldoror”, (The Song of Maldoror) is one of the most mind-boggling, verbal hallucination ever written. If you have never read “Maldoror” (as it is often referred to), I suggest buying a copy today, in his honor. (Just scroll down this page, and you’ll see a link to buy the book from “My Book Club” on the right-side column).

For lovers of great surrealist poetry, take a minute to read a sample of this great artist’s work.

You can also read my special page, dedicated to Le Comte de Lautréamont, complete with an assortment of valuable links.

Let me know your thoughts upon reading this truly important, and startlingly original poet’s work. I’m sure that once you read his story, (and his poetry), you will reserve a special place in your library for the late, great Isidore.

Visit Le Comte de Lautréamont on Myspace.

Today marks what would have been Kurt Cobain’s 42nd Birthday. It’s hard to believe, but it’s almost been 15 years since Kurt died, so tragically young at the age of 27.

I’ve been working on interpreting Kurt’s Astrology Chart, delving into the mystery as to what was really behind his suicide — if in fact, it was, one. It’s definitely a bizarre chart, full of hope, promise and even offers insight into his seemingly, unavoidable crash-and-burn.

Kurt never was one to burn out OR fade away. Instead, he chose to go out like the wild human Supernova he truly was. Still, his fiery ghostlight echoes, reaching the furthermost edges of our Messyverse — reminding the most distant of aliens, that once upon a time, there lived a beautiful yellow giant star named Kurt. May his light always shine for eyes to see, even when those eyes are blind with tears.

Today is the 61st Anniversary of the death of the avatar of Western Magick, Edward Alexander Crowley (more famously known as Aleister Crowley). Thelemites (those who follow the magickal tenets of Crowley) refer to this special day as Crowley’s Greater Feast.

As a Thelemite, I always observe the Holy Days of Thelema, and earlier today remembered to meditate on the special energy of this day; however, at 11:34 pm (PST) the remembrance hit me full force. I felt his spirit must have left close to this time all those years ago.

Of course, today’s observance of the anniversary of Crowley’s death is extra special, as it’s also the day of a rare Jupiter/Venus Conjunction, an Astrological signifier of blissful union.

After looking over the Astrological Chart of Crowley’s death (December 1st, 1947), I saw that the Sun was at 9 Degrees in the sign of Sagittarius. I suddenly realized that this exactly conjoined one of my karmic planets at the exact degree. No wonder the path of Thelema called out to me so strongly in this incarnation!

In closing, I’d like to end this post with one of the more stirring passages from Crowley’s own Liber XV (The Gnostic Mass), wherein the Deacon of the Mass states:

“Unto them from whose eyes the veil of life hath fallen may there be granted the accomplishment of their true Wills; whether they will absorption in the Infinite, or to be united with their chosen and preferred, or to be in contemplation, or to be at peace, or to achieve the labour and heroism of incarnation on this planet or another, or in any Star, or aught else, unto them may there be granted the accomplishment of their wills; yea, the accomplishment of their wills. AUMGN. AUMGN. AUMGN.”

Wherever you are Frater Perdurabo, I hope you can see the beauty of the legacy that lives on in all of your magickal children.

I observe the 24th day of November as a personal day of remembrance in honor of Isidore Lucien Ducasse. He was a great poet of the 1800’s, considered by the artist/poet, Andre Breton to be the true father of Surrealism.

On this day, in the year 1870, Isidore died at the age of 24, under the usual Mysterious Circumstances, almost a necessary element of any true poet’s legend.

Do yourself a favor and go quietly insane after reading 3 sentences from any chapter of Ducasse’s masterpiece, “Les Chants de Maldoror” (“The Songs of Maldoror”). It’s one of the few books I offer directly through my site, so you can click on the previous link, or scroll down the right-side of this page, and click to get your own copy. I’ve had mine for many years.

Maldoror was written under Ducasse’s nomme de guerre, “Le Comte de Lautreamont”.

.’.93.’.

It seems that some of my greatest inspirations were born under the astrological sign of Libra. John Lennon is a musical hero, and Aleister Crowley is a magickal one.

I have to say that the writings and teachings of Crowley (aka The Master Therion), have been the most influential, especially considering my entire life has been dedicated to the learning and practice of the art of Magick.

Today, I’d like to pay my respects to Crowley on his 132nd birthday. His influence in the world continues to be felt through his Proclamation of the Law of Thelema, which ushered in the 93rd Current in the form of the Aeon of Horus, the Crowned and Conquering Child.

To learn more about Crowley’s ideas and magickal philosophies, please read The Book of the Law, or feel free to write me for more links and info.Albeit, Crowley (as a mere human) had his flaws and foibles, but as a Magician he had no equal, although there are those who might argue the point.

To learn more about Crowley, the Man and Magus, I hope you’ll spend a minute to read a bit about him at the Voxx Magickal Forum, and see for yourself.

Crowley, wherever you are … thank you for all the magickal gifts you’ve helped me to discover and use to manifest my True Will. I can honestly say, that the use of High Magick has enabled me to attract the health, wealth, knowledge and love that is every human’s birthright.

If you’d like to learn more about The Art and Practice of High Magick, feel free to contact me or check my list of available classes.

In the meantime, below are some additional links I feel might be useful for those of you who have yet to discover this incredible man for yourself. I suggest you read Crowley’s writings for yourself, and to make it easy for you, just go to the right side of this page, and scroll down a bit until you see my Magickal Library picks on the right-hand side. I’ve set up direct links so you can order Crowley’s books easily.

If you’d like to celebrate the birth of the Magus, light a candle at 11:30 pm (PDT), I know I will.

Happy Birthday to the late, great Elliott Smith. He would have been 38 years old today. His music is like no other. Transformative, healing, powerful and most of all, brutally honest.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Elliott at Spaceland several years ago. He was sweet, self-effacing and warmly genuine. Completely guileless. After listening to his acoustic set, I picked up a napkin he left on the stage which was scrawled with fresh lyrics he’d just written. Something about pirates. Anyway, his music got me through some tough times.

Yesterday, Mr. B and I wound up turning a friend onto Elliott’s music, and I realized later on, that it was actually Elliott’s birthday.

In my head, I heard Elliott’s voice speaking to me. He said that his favorite birthday present was knowing that people were still moved enough to share his music with their friends.

For those of you who haven’t heard Elliott’s music, here are a few of my favorite songs of his: Christian Brothers, Everything Reminds Me of Her, Speed Trials, Everything Means Nothing to Me, Waltz Number 1 and 2. There are too many to list here. Everything he wrote just brims over with a heartfelt authenticity that just breaks the human heart.

Please visit the Official Elliott Smith Fan Site, and also make sure to check out Elliott’s many Youtube videos. You will discover a treasure in the music and lyrics of this truly great artist. You are loved and missed Elliott. I’ll be lighting a candle for him later tonight at the Elliott Wall on Sunset. Blessings and Light my friend.

Today is the anniversary of the 480th Birthday of the well-known, original Enochian Magician, Sir John Dee (the original Agent 007).

Sir John Dee was born on July 13th, 1527 and died in 1609. He was primarily known during his life as an expert mathematician and geographer; however, he was also a scholar of the Occult, and an alchemist as well as the Court Astrologer to no less than Queen Elizabeth I.

The Virgin Queen most likely owes a great deal to Dee for helping her make important decisions that ultimately cemented her unique place in history as the greatest, most powerful queen since the Egyptian Hatshepsut.

To modern occultists, Dee’s primary legacy is his system of Enochian Magick, which he transcribed by using a Trance Medium (Edward Kelley) as a communicator between man and the Angels.

Here are a few links for those of you who might enjoy reading more about this scholar of the divine.

As Dee might have said himself, “Ol Sonuf Vaorsagi!” Happy birthday Sir!

Just wanted to commemorate the birthday of the late Princess Diana. The world lost a great light when she left our planet. I wish her spirit peace and light eternal.

Happy Birthday Diana, the People’s Princess. I am honored to share the same day of your birth.

For those of you who are interested in the Astrology chart of Princess Diana, I will be posting it soon in the Astrology Section of my magickal forum.

A Personal Story: Six months after the death of the Princess, I wound up being flown to London to perform a Babalon Working with a magickal friend (all-expenses paid, who could resist?) As a result, I was able to take the opportunity to personally place a bouquet of one dozen yellow roses at the entrance of Highgate. I felt that I was meant to go there and pay hommage to Diana, one of my most favorite people on the planet.

I wish I could have gone to the concert given in Diana’s honour. I encourage all my readers to say a special prayer for the peace of her spirit. She truly was the apotheosis of the Goddess Diana, as far as I’m concerned.

* * * *
The Hounds of Diana

Stealthing through the wood
Bolting faster than a ray of Luna light
Casting off illusion’s brood
of silky white

Diana
quick, you dart
with bowstring tight
shot thru, the blackened heart of night

How fleeting fly your feet
bounding by on air
Wild scent of virgin heat
Your haunted lair

Transgressed by crystalled Acteons
Take care
When the Huntress turns to hunted
Feign, beware

Your stag and hound are circling, unseen
Soon spotted, drag your broken body from the scene

There are those who claim your cease
Whatever can they mean?
You are merely hidden
in the never-ending green

You live and hide behind the Moon
Your symphony
in a horned-owl’s tune
O, winged Priestess of Prophecy — Diana

Before it’s too late … I wanted to wish a Happy Astral Birthday to William Butler Yeats, the great mystical poet.

There are a great number of people who are unaware that Yeats was not only a long-time member of The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, but he was also the Head of the Order for a time.

For a time, during my teenage years, I was a huge fan of Yeats — even before I knew he was a ritual Magician. Of course, those familiar with the life of Aleister Crowley no doubt are aware that Yeats and Crowley were not on the best of terms. Crowley joined the same G.’.D.’. Lodge as Yeats in 1898, much to the chagrin of many of the members of the Isis-Urania Temple in London.

All mysticism aside, Yeats was a gifted and very spiritually-oriented poet, who at one time was the Poet Laureate of Ireland, won the Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature in 1923. Yeats is known as the greatest Irish lyric poet of all time, and is regarded by many as the greatest poet of the 20th Century (although my personal vote goes to the late, great Ted Hughes, former husband of the ever more late Sylvia Plath, but i digress).

There are quite a few books written about the magickal poetry and symbolism of Yeats, which are worth checking out (I’ll have to go through my library and post some of the better titles).

On this day, I urge all my magickal friends to take a moment to read through some of the poems left behind by the hermetic Mage. I’m sure you will find much to enjoy in the inspired words and visions he so carefully left behind. Happy birthday Mr. Yeats.

“[In the train of Poseidon] the winds and tempest are silent and with tranquil song proceed the Tritones who bear his armour and the rock-like Cete (Sea-Monsters) and the Tyrrhenian herds [seals], and gambol around and blow him, saluting their king.” — Statius, Achilleid 1.55

According to news reports, a 50-ton Bowhead whale was caught and killed last month; however, what makes this story so unusual is the fact that the creature has been estimated to have been between 115 to 130 years old!

It’s bad enough to have lost such a magnificent whale, but to make matters worse it seems the only thing reporters are focusing on is the fact that the whale was discovered with a fragment of a weapon in its neck — one that was manufactured circa 1890!

The 50-ton whale was captured off the Alaskan coast, had apparently been hit with a bomb lance between its neck and shoulder blade, a fragment which was lodged there for over 100 years. It had survived for over a century with the 3-1/2 inch arrow-shaped object buried under its blubber, only to succumb during a similar, final attack last month.

According to John Bockstoce, an adjunct curator at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, no other finding of such an object has ever been as precise in helping discover the actual age of such a whale. Ordinarily, the calculation of a whale’s age is difficult to gauge by studying the level of amino acids in the whale’s eye lenses. Not only that, but it is an extremely rare event to discover a whale which is more than a century old. Still, there have been incidents of capturing whales that have been near 200 years of age.

The Bowhead that was recently killed has been estimated to have been born in approximately 1877, around the time Thomas Edison was busy inventing the phonograph.

Alaska Whaling Laws: The Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission allows the harvesting of up to 255 whales by 10 Alaskan villages for the next five years, so the killing of the whale is considered legal; however, it’s important to note that the Bowhead Whale itself is considered an endangered species, and I feel should have been spared this unnecessary death.

Especially haunting to me is the fact that this whale managed to exist for all this time, no doubt being careful to avoid humans. Still, in the end this ancient creature lost its life, and takes with it a small piece of history.

As a follower of the ancient ways of Nature, I respect all creatures, and although I am a Pagan, I don’t consider myself to be a “tree-hugging hippie”. Still, in this case the age of this whale, as well as the fact that it was on the endangered species list just really saddens me — even though the killing was technically legal, and will go towards feeding the Alaskan Indians.

I suppose the only thing I can do is what I’m doing right now — bringing awareness to another facet of the story, one that is not receiving the attention I feel it deserves. All i can do now is say a blessing for a majestic being that has been sacrificed to feed the needs of Man and his unceasing appetite.

Whales and Mythology: According to ancient Greek Mythology, the Goddess Amphitrite was the ruler of the Keta (aka Cetaceans), which were considered sea monsters.

Today marks the 10 year Anniversary of the untimely death of Jeff Buckley. On May 29th, 1997, Buckley dove into the Wolf River, a tributary of the Mississippi River, only to surface as a beautiful ghost.

At the time of his passing, I had only heard tales of his music and live performances from friends and clients. Oddly enough, time and again I went to record stores and wound up holding his CD in my hands, studying the covers — staring into his face. Still, each time I left the store without purchasing his music.

Once, after giving a Psychic Reading to Maynard James Keenan (the vocalist for the magickal music group Tool), he told me he was going to see Jeff play at the Troubador. I wanted to go, but for some reason, didn’t — much to my lasting regret.

Buckley Virgin: On June 4, 1997 I was at a KROQ concert with Nancy Berry (the former Vice-Chairman of Virgin Records) and several of her friends. A friend of Nancy’s, a singer named Christopher Shinn, offered to give me a ride to an after party at the Chateau Marmont, which I accepted.

On the drive back, Chris told me his favorite singer was Jeff Buckley. I felt at that point the Universe was definitely conspiring to get me to buy Buckley’s CD, and made a mental note to get it immediately, after Chris continued raving about it. In the car, Chris put on Jeff’s debut album, Grace, and played the track So Real. By the end of the song I was in tears, completely blown away by the sheer beauty of not only the music, but the power and sincerity of Jeff’s mighty, angelic voice. After the song was over, Chris said, “Yeah, it’s a real shame he’s gone.”

I couldn’t believe my ears. When I asked Chris what he meant, he explained that Jeff had mysteriously “disappeared”, and no one had seen him since he went swimming on the night of May 29th, (1997). I was devastated twice that night.

The next day I went out and bought a copy of Grace, and played nothing else (except for a little Satchel and Pigeonhed) for months. His music is that good.

Getting back to my story, 6 days after I first heard Jeff’s music, his lifeless body was found, floating on the banks of the Mississippi River, near Beale Street. The music world went into a period of mourning. Anybody who was familiar with his music was absolutely devastated by the news. The legend of Jeff Buckley was born.

There is much left to my story, but I’ll post the amazing details on my Magickal Forum as soon as I can.

For those of you who don’t know Jeff’s music, please visit Official Jeff Buckley Site for more about his life, and his music.

All I can say now is, Jeff — wherever you are, thank you for the music, the beauty that you shared with all of us, stuck down here without you.

“Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince, And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!” (Shakespeare)

Sometimes people ask me what it’s like to be Psychic, or how I first knew I possessed this ability. Rather than go into my whole history (which will be published in book form at some point), I thought I’d give you a little glimpse into how I pick up what I call “Psychic Signals”.

Psychic Intuition vs. Prophecy: First, it’s important to note (especially for the skeptics out there), that being Psychic rarely comes with the alleged “Nostradamian” delusions of impending doom that many have come to associate with Prophecy. I’ll leave my experiences with true Prophecy for another post.

Psychic Signals: To illustrate the most recent example of a Psychic Signal I received recently, I’ll share a story with you that happened to me recently.

Receiving a Psychic Signal: Preliminary Psychic Event – All of my Psychic Signals start with what I term a “Preliminary Psychic Event”; in this case, the PPE occurred on May 11th, 2007 when I went to listen to an in-store performance by Dntel (aka Jimmy Tamborelli, of the music group Postal Service).

As I hung out in the store, I wandered over to the Experimental Music section checking out the John Zorn section. I then moved to a section and noticed the name of an artist I’d heard of before, but had never checked out, whose name was Derek Bailey. I looked through the collection of his CD’s and mentally noted him in my mind as someone worth checking out at some future time.

Secondary Psychic Event: On May 18th, 2007 (7 days later), I went to Border’s Books at Vine and Sunset and started reading a musical biography of an old friend (a famous experimental jazz guitarist) who was murdered. While reading the book, I discovered that my deceased friend had gotten married on May 18th — the day I was reading his biography. I took another mental note.

Random Psychic Elements: Sometimes, other seemingly unrelated influences come up that seem to act as an Emotional Intensifier (to what eventually becomes what I term, The Final Psychic Signal, or Psychic Culmination Event). In this case, the Emotional Intensifier it turned out to be music.

Specifically the artist whose music I’d been listening to, almost exclusively for the last two weeks, which turned out to be the late, great Elliot Smith. As some of you may know, Elliot died as a result of two stab wounds to the chest. (The circumstances of his death have never been completely solved, and neither was the death of my other deceased friend/guitarist.)

Psychic Sifting: This takes place when my subconscious mind starts creating what I call a “Psychic Sediment”. It seems that the two (seemingly separate) Psychic Events get mixed in with what I term, “Random Psychic Elements”. Then what happens, is I become aware that my mind continuously repeats certain thoughts, much like a tape loop, which I call “The Psychic Loop”. Here’s an example of the experience of the PL.

“Electronic music (Dintel gig) … Derek Bailey (experimental guitarist) … music … experimental music … musician … guitarist … Elliot Smith … death by stabbing … knives … blood … May 18th (murder of friend) … death … electronic music … Derek Bailey …” Hopefully, you see what I mean.

Psychic Signal (Final Culmination): Saturday, May 19th, 2007, I went to a coffee shop and picked up the Los Angeles Times newspaper. I happened to look down at the bottom of the page to see news that shocked me, but shouldn’t have.

For there, at the bottom of the page I read words which punched me in the face. I read the news that another old friend had died! That friend was Rod Poole, an English experimental guitarist, whom I hadn’t seen in several years. Here are the circumstances of his untimely death: He was stabbed with a knife — murdered in cold-blood. He was killed in front of his wife, on May 13th, 2007.

Five days later, (May 18th, 2007), I received what I term The Second Psychic Event), while reading about the murder of another old friend, who also happened to be an experimental music guitarist.

As I read the entire article devoted to Rod’s untimely passing, I came upon this section of the article, which read:

” … Poole was a highly unusual guitarist, equally drawn to the distorted sound bombs of Jimi Hendrix and the spontaneous microcosmic tracings of [get this ...] Derek Bailey. [Greg Burk, Author, (LA Times)" [Read the rest of the article here, or at the LA Times.]

So there you have it. A tiny glimpse into the mind of a Psychic, and how I received intuitive information that carried a great deal of detail. It’s not like I just had a “bad feeling” that something was going to happen. Every detail of the impending death of my friend was contained in the Psychic Loop! Experimental music; guitarist; death; stabbing; murder — even the date of May 18th — it was all there in the Psychic Loop that had been playing in my head for up to two weeks. This is an example of a complete Psychic Reception of what became documented in a public newspaper in less than 24 hours, after receiving the Preliminary, Secondary and additional Random Psychic Events, plus the additional elements that created the Psychic Loop, which resulted in the Psychic Culmination Event — the prophecy made reality.

Preventing Tragedy Via Psychic Signals: Now all that remains is to wonder if I could have prevented the death of my friend. That is the part that baffles most critics of Psychic Phenomena. There are those of you who would like to ask me, “If you knew about your friend’s death, why didn’t you/couldn’t you prevent it?” Good question. The answer is simple. And only God knows it.

In time, maybe Psychics will learn to piece together the information we gain and be more able to prevent tragedies from occurring. Doctors know there are diseases — and sometimes even know the traits and signs of those most likely to afflicted with an illness — yet, still there seems to be no surefire way to predict and avoid death. At such moments, I just simply accept my Psychic ability and the emotions that sometimes attend it. I am humbled by the fact that the Universe deems to show me the interconnectedness of all beings, things and states, and I am thankful for that knowledge and spiritual experience.

After reading this post, I’m sure there are some of you who will start to recognize that you have been getting Psychic Signals for a long time, without realizing it.

Psychic Signals or Synchronicity: There are others of you who may decide to term these type of occurrences as “Synchronicity”. Call it what you will, Carl Jung was a Psychic who used the Tarot and Occult Symbology in his writings. I believe that Jung’s terming of Psychic phenomena as “synchronicity” was a way of protecting his professional standing in the more respected field of Psychology, which is understandable, considering the common attitudes of society regarding anything hinting of the Supernatural.

Condolences: In any case, an old friend — a respected young musical pioneer is gone from the earthly plane of existence. I hope you will all take the time to say a prayer for the soul of Rod Poole. Listen to his music. Learn from it. Enjoy it. It is his legacy to us all.

Anniversary of the Waco Texas Tragedy: Today is the anniversary of two separate tragedies, one of which exists as a mirror image of the other — I am speaking of The Waco Texas Tragedy that occurred on April 19th, 1993, which involved The Branch Davidian Church. The church was founded by David Koresh (Vernon Wayne Howell).

Anniversary of the Oklahoma Bombing: The other tragedy which occurred on the same (April 19th) in 1995, when American soldier, Timothy McVeigh bombed the Oklahoma Federal Building, in Oklahoma City, crime for which he was later executed on June 11, 2001.

According to historic interviews with McVeigh, the bombing took place as his personal protest against what he felt to be the US Government’s involvement in the incident at Waco, Texas.

Astrological Ramifications: I find it interesting, but not surprising that so much violence tends to occur during the Astrological time period under the rulership of Aries, the sign of the Ram. Aries the (also known as Ares) is the Roman God of War, Bloodshed and Violence.

Beginning in 1993, there has been an increasingly numerous amount of massacres of innocent people in the United States, due to the personal religious and social philosophies of eccentric individuals like Koresh, McVeigh and others.

In the meantime, let us remember the innocent and the fallen who were unwitting victims in these national tragedies.

Unfortunately, my predictions have proven all too true.

Today, in respect of all the victims of the Virginia Tech Massacre, I offer this healing invocation, from Liber XV, from The Holy Books of Thelema, written by the Master Therion:

“Unto them from whose eyes the veil of life hath fallen may there be granted the accomplishment of their true Wills; whether they will absorption in the Infinite, or to be united with their chosen and preferred, or to be in contemplation, or to be at peace, or to achieve the labour and heroism of incarnation on this planet or another, or in any Star, or aught else, unto them may there be granted the accomplishment of their wills; yea, the accomplishment of their wills. AUMGN. AUMGN. AUMGN.”

May those of you who have been personally been touched by this tragedy, be comforted during your time of mourning. My thoughts are with you all.

I have done a great deal of magickal research regarding recent events, and I will be posting some important Psychic and Astrological information regarding this situation within the next several days. I look forward to hearing your personal opinions and comments on the Magickal Forum.

Today, I celebrate the birthday of my favorite poet, the late great Isidore Lucien Ducasse. The poet is more commonly known by his nomme-de-plume, Le Comte de Lautreamont. The picture accompanying this post is the only one of Ducasse known to exist. There is another photo, but it is unknown which of the two pictures is the true representation, however, my feeling is that this picture is that of Ducasse.

The Biography of Ducasse: Isidore, of French parentage, was born on April 4th, 1846 in Montevideo, Uruguay where his father was stationed at the French Consulate.

There is little known about the life of this singular poetic genius, although there does exist, a brief but concise biography.

The Death of Ducasse: Isidore died at the young age of 24, on November 24th, 1870, due to unknown causes. However, it has been suggested by an acquaintance of the poet, that he had been ill shortly before his untimely death. After death, his body was unclaimed, and was reported to have been interred in an unmarked pauper’s grave in Paris — a sad and tragic end for such a tremendously talented poet.

The Birth of Maldoror: The master work (and only complete one) written by Ducasse is the famed, Les Chants de Maldoror, which was published several years after his death. He tried in vain to get the work published during his brief life, but it was considered too blasphemous at the time.

The Literary Legacy of Ducasse: In 1927, there was a renewed interest in the writings of Ducasse, based upon fragments which were published by Surrealists, Phillipe Soupault and Andre Breton. The latter, proclaiming Ducasse as no less than the Patron Saint of Surrealism.

Today, there is continued and growing interest in the work of Ducasse by a number of artists, such as musical groups “Current 93“, “Coil“, and myriad other writers, poets and of course, Psychics such as myself.

Links of Interest: Here are some Magickal Literary Links to other sites and pages dedicated to Isidore Lucien Ducasse, one of the most original poets who ever lived. May his words anoint and startle you with their mad brilliance, as he did me, the day I was blessed to discover the genius of this poetic master. Visit my Memorial Page for the Poet, and send him a birthday message, which I’ll post on the page.

Maldoror on MySpace: The Spirit of Maldoror currently lives on MySpace, where he is regularly Channeled by the Trance Medium, Altatheria. Visit Maldoror’s Psychic Page to read his new poems as they are released from the aethyrs.

He would have been 45 in earth years.

John was a founding member of the remarkable musical group, Coil, with his life partner, Peter Christopherson. I’ve been an avid listener and fan since he first began putting out his music. During the 1980’s, we began a correspondence which lasted a few years.

John was an extraordinarily talented Magician who worked with soundwaves. We shared an insatiable interest in Magick and the works of such men as Aleister Crowley.

John, wherever you are, may you have accomplished your True Will, continuing to play the music of the spheres as you shine your lovely light upon us all.

All is permitted.” _ Hasan i Sabbah

Robert Anton Wilson left his earthly vehicle for a late-model astral body, leaving the chaotic shores of Gaia for possibly the last time at 4:50 am (PST), on Thursday, January 11, 2007, with the Moon at 29 Degrees Libra.

According to a news source, Robert had been in ill health for the past several years. He suffered from the effects of post-polio syndrome which had severely damaged his legs and weakened his body. After a serious fall in June 2006, Robert was unable to walk, and confined to bed. Many of his closest family, friends and fans rallied around the author during his last several months to support him emotionally and even financially, for which Wilson was truly grateful.

Wilson, or RAW as he was popularly known, was a prolific author, penning a wide range of fascinating work during his long, and eventful life. Among his works left behind, are novels and essays.

In addition to being a celebrated author, he was also a philosopher, psychologist, futurist, anarchist, and conspiracy theorist.

A small selection of Wilson’s best-known works include such popular books as:

The Illuminatus! Trilogy (1975) including the following:

(The Eye in the Pyramid)

(The Golden Apple)

(Leviathan)

The Cosmic Trigger I: Final Secret of the Illuminati (1977)

Schrodinger’s Cat (Trilogy, 1980-1981)

Masks of the Illuminati (1981)

The Historical Illuminatus Chronicles (1982-1991)

Prometheus Rising (1983, revised 1987), and

Quantum Psychology (1990)

He was also friends with the late Timothy Leary, with whom he collaborated on two books, Neuropolitics and The Game of Life.

I had the personal good fortune to meet Robert several times over the last several years. Here I go, taking an acid trip down memory lane …

My Personal Remembrance: I was privileged to have met Robert in 1988 with his late wife Arlin at the home of respected author and occultist Laura Jennings and her husband Peter Yorke, when they lived in West Los Angeles.

I met him again several times after that, once most notably at one of his lectures on Sex Magick, which was held in a Masonic Lodge in Culver City. It was standing-room only, as he blew the lid off the Sex Magick Secrets of the O.T.O., citing particular passages from one of Aleister Crowley’s masterpieces, Liber 333, also known as The Book of Lies, (Falsely So Called). I can still hear him reading aloud from Chapter 69, The Way to Succeed, and the Way to Suck Eggs!

Speaking of Crowley, Robert was one of the few people with the intelligence to see behind the veil of the Great Beast’s writings. He expounded Crowley’s views with brilliance and flair — not to mention a great deal of humor. What a wonderfully outrageous man he was. He always had a sparkle in his eye and a the hint of laughter in his voice.

Robert, you will be greatly missed down here on Earth. We can only hope that wherever you are, you’ll continue to kick our asses down here, and wake us up to all that we can truly be.
