What a momentous day! This will be the last Full Moon in Sagittarius, while Uranus is at the last degree of Pisces. We’re going to be on fire, figuratively and literally in the coming weeks. Surely you have felt the energy shifting within the last few hours, as the Black Moon moved toward its new phase in Taurus.

Ordinarily, a new moon brings an invigorating feeling; However, this particular moon is fraught with tension, as it creates the astrological aspect known as a Fixed T-Square. Those born with the Sun or Moon in the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius will feel the brunt of this aspect, a bit more intensely.

Also, pay attention to which house you may have any of these fixed signs, as you’ll no doubt feel the heat. It’s not “bad”, just “challenging”, as I always say.

To intensify matters, Jupiter and Uranus (in Pisces) are in opposition of Saturn, currently retrograde in Virgo. These 3 planets are creating a Mutable T-Square, with Venus in Gemini. No wonder the world and everyone in it feels like we’re on a rollercoaster.

Still, it’s a New Moon, so light a green or white candle, and meditate on what you’d like to achieve in this new lunar cycle. It’s a great time to plant things as well, as the Moon in Taurus is considered one of the most fruitful times to begin projects.

What a strange couple of months it’s been — I’m sure you’re all mystified by the changes that have been occurring since the end of July, 2009.

The last series of Solar/Lunar eclipses have literally changed everything, for myself and for so many others of my readers. By now, the Summer of 2009 is becoming widely regarded as the “Summer of Death”, which, although rather morbid-sounding has quite literally been the case, especially in the world of celebrity.

Still, despite all the expected (and unexpected changes) we’ve all been subjected to, renewed energy is here to be enjoyed with the planetary entrance of Mars into the sign of Leo. Of course, this planetary placement will offer up some exciting (and passionate fireworks) for many of us (what with the Sun shortly entering the sign of Scorpio and all) Still, matters of the heart (which happens to be ruled by Leo), will be gearing up for new experiences. Boredom be gone!

The most intriguing aspect of this particular Mars placement is the fact that it will be there until April 2010! This is one of the longest placements of Mars in quite some time. So for those of you who have planets in Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, life will definitely be a challenge, but a necessary one. I’m personally looking forward to a lot of positive energy that will bring us all the strength to deal with the changes that were thrust upon us this past Summer. In Memoriam: The Father of Surrealism.

Today, I’m celebrating the birth of my favorite poet, Isidore Lucien Ducasse, more famously known as, Le Comte de Lautréamont. During his life, he completed writing only one complete book, but oh what a book it was!

Entitled “Les Chants de Maldoror”, (The Song of Maldoror) is one of the most mind-boggling, verbal hallucination ever written. If you have never read “Maldoror” (as it is often referred to), I suggest buying a copy today, in his honor. (Just scroll down this page, and you’ll see a link to buy the book from “My Book Club” on the right-side column).

For lovers of great surrealist poetry, take a minute to read a sample of this great artist’s work.
