On November 24th, 2006 the planet Jupiter moved into the Fire Sign of Sagittarius, where it will stay until December 18th, 2007.

Jupiter is the largest planet in our Solar System, and astrologically rules the idea of Expansion, Transformation, and Adventure. So, it stands to reason that when Jupiter is transiting his own astrological home turf of Sagittarius he’ll tend to kick all normal boundaries to the curb!

Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, occupies the 9th House of the Zodiac, the placement of Foreign Travel, Languages, Philosophy and Higher Knowledge. In light of that fact, Jupiter in Sagittarius will tend to intensify the idea of Freedom in every way, shape and form.

Now’s the time when people will start seeing the big picture. Many will get bitten by the Travel Bug, and decide to explore the planet for themselves, instead of watching it via the Discovery Channel.

People are once again starting to view the world at-large as an exciting place, filled with untold possibilities, instead of a scary place to hide from. Many of us will finally tire of being dictated to by authority, choosing to see the world for ourselves and make our own decisions instead of harboring the xenophobic views we’ve suffered from for the last while (thanks to the overwhelming paranoid attitude brought on by all those Scorpio planets we had to deal with recently!)

Also, since the planet Jupiter rules the 21st Path of “Luck” on Qabalistic Tree of Life, Fortune may just decide to shine her beautiful rays upon you. Those born under the Sign of Sagittarius, or with Sagittarius on the Ascendant may feel extra lucky. Also, those born under the Fire Signs of Aries and Leo may get some positive fallout from bountiful Jupiter. However, don’t get too cocky about pushing your luck … the boundaries of restriction have been widened, but they still exist, so be careful of overdoing it or you may have to pay the Piper! (Do you hear me, Britney Spears?)

Jupiter in Sagittarius will widen your scope of interests in people, places and things in general. For those who need discipline, you’ll have to try a great deal harder to say “no” to your excesses. Try to keep to the positive habits you gained while Jupiter was in Scorpio. Avoid overeating, and drinking to excess. Also, Cocaine (ruled by Jupiter), will no doubt be experiencing a resurgence; most likely being used as a diet aid for many superstars who can’t control their sugar cravings during this truly “expansive” transit!

You’ll definitely have a good time while Jupiter hangs out in Sagittarius, just learn to pace yourself!
