Jack Parsons: Darkside of the Moon

June 17th, 2009 by Voxx

BelarionToday, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 5:08 pm PDT, marks the exact time of the 57th Anniversary of Jack Parsons‘ tragic death.  Parsons, (born, Marvel Whiteside Parsons, and also known as John), was a brilliant scientist who was one of the main founders of Jet Propulsion Laboratory (affectionately known as “Jack Parsons Laboratories, by Parsons fans).

Jack was the inventor of solid rocket fuel, which was the single most important contribution to the Moon missions, for without Jack’s contribution, there never would have been a man on the moon (at least not within the time frame, it was achieved). For his contributions to the field of space exploration, Jack was given the honor of having not one, but two craters on the moon, named for him (albeit, both are on the dark side of the moon … amazingly appropriate.) Read about Parsons’ craters here.

Despite enough intelligence to have garnered him lasting fame for his contributions in the field of science and chemistry, it was Parsons’ secondary interest and practice of the Magick of Aleister Crowley, that has since overshadowed his more worldly legacy.

In 1939, at the young age of 26, Parsons was introduced, by Wilfrid T. Smith, to the magickal philosophy of Aleister Crowley, the head of the organization known as, the Ordo Templi Orientis.

Parsons life took a strange turn when he undertook a ritual he named,The Babalon Working, wherein he performed an intense Enochian Ritual, specifically designed to manifest an earthly incarnation of the Thelemic primal goddess, “Babalon.”

Much has been written about this extraordinary ritual, and its shocking, seemingly tragic outcome, in the form of two books, “Sex and Rockets“, and “Strange Angel“. (Purchase these books, via links listed below).

I have created several Astrological Charts regarding the highlights of Parsons’ fascinating life, which are available upon request, to serious Magicians, and those interested in the Jack’s magickal career.

In honor of Jack’s memory, there is a group on Facebook, dedicated to this amazingly talented man.

There is also a collector’s edition, Jack Parsons’ Memorial T-Shirt, available here.

New Moon in Capricorn (and Ritual)

December 27th, 2008 by Voxx

s devil

The New Moon in Capricorn at 6º08″ Degrees will happen early this morning at 1:22 am, PST (4:22 pm, EST).

The Meaning of The New Moon: The New Moon is the beginning of the Waxing (growing) phase of the moon. This phase is best for starting projects, and attracting energy toward manifesting your desires for the next 14 days — that is, until the next Full Moon phase, which represents the next cycle of completion. (Learn more about the The Voxx Magickal Forum and check out the folder for New Moon Rituals.

The New Moon in Capricorn is one of the best for setting goals, initiating projects, and making a serious commitment toward manifesting your long-range plans.

Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn, and both sign and planet are associated with the ideas of restriction, and discipline — both necessary in order to accomplish the greater things in life.

Adding additional force, the planet Mars also enters Capricorn today at 11:30 am PST (2:30 am EST), Mars lending a kick-ass energy which will enable us to actually fulfill our New Year’s resolutions! While Capricorn is the starting point for this new lunar phase, the energy will build, adding a positive sense of forward movement to all you attempt.

Procrastinate tomorrow! (lol) Right now, it’s time to get yourself in gear and start moving forward for once. Just because this energy is so powerful and positive, there’s a likelihood that you’ll expect results quickly — but, don’t get exasperated when this doesn’t happen. Just because you’re finally taking your life seriously doesn’t mean that everything can be magickally sorted out overnight. Have patience. That’s the ultimate Capricornian phrase. Chill out for heaven’s sake!

Planetary Aspects: Currently, there’s a powerful group of Planets in Capricorn — with the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Pluto ALL in this hard-working, focused sign.

Other Planetary Aspects: The Sun and Moon will conjunct Mars and Pluto in Capricorn at the time of the New Moon, which will pack a powerful punch to this new lunar phase. Along with challenging aspects to Venus and Neptune, we need to be aware that we may not be viewing reality clearly at the present time. Despite it all, this is a great time to to make serious plans for the future, as a quick reaping of rewards can start happening as soon as 4 weeks from now, at the time of the next Full Moon!

Global Effects of the New Moon in Capricorn: The Lunar/Saturn influence will no doubt be tough on weather patterns, and make us start paying attention to the damage we’re doing to the planet — not as punishment, but to guide us toward changing our patterns of planetary abuse.

Total Solar Eclipse 2008: Dragon-Eating Moon

August 1st, 2008 by Voxx

Don’t forget to watch the Solar Eclipse via the internet at 3:21 am (PDT).  (Click the NASA link at the bottom of this post to watch the eclipse via live-streaming). The New Moon will be in Leo at 9 Degrees (the exact degree of the Sun, which is what causes an eclipse in the first place).

This eclipse concerns me greatly, as it occurs within one degree of some very inauspicious Fixed Stars.  According to ancient star lore, here is a bit of info:

South Asellus:  8° Leo 35 – Asellus is considered unfortunate, and it’s energy is related to both the Sun and Mars.  In particular, this star concerns military preferment, blindness, eye trouble, shipwreck, mass murder, horrors, self-willed, unwillingness to cooperate

Giansar:  10° Leo 20 – Although Giansar is considered a “neutral” energy, it’s connection to Saturn and Mars, causes additional concern, as it shows danger of robbery and accidental poisoning.

This particular eclipse threatens to dethrone, maim and kill emperors, rulers and those who are in high authoritative positions.  Not only that, but the influence of eclipses is generally felt for up to 6 months afterward!  Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

For anyone with any planets at 6 to 12 degrees Leo, there is no doubt that major changes are underway.  Time to get it together — it’s going to be a bumpy ride alright!

UPDATE:  I was up until sunrise, performing a New Moon in Leo ritual, using my Scrying Mirror to catch the the Moon’s magnificence.  I’ll be posting some pix soon.  Seriously, I haven’t felt this much energy from an eclipse since 1991.  The view was exhilarating, even if it was only caught on my television.  Now, we have 4 planets in the sign of Leo, which promises this to be a very historical time, that will no doubt begin immediately.

Midsummer’s Nite

June 24th, 2008 by Voxx

I’m actually writing this on June 23rd — waiting to set out the silver bowl to collect the morning dew of Saint John’s Eve (Midsummer’s Eve).  I use the dew to concoct some very magickal potions and brews for the rest of the year.  It definitely works.  I’ll add a bit about Midsummer Legends to this post, when I can on an on-going basis.

LVX,
