Aleister Crowley’s Greater Feast

December 1st, 2008 by Voxx

s_univ.jpgToday is the 61st Anniversary of the death of the avatar of Western Magick, Edward Alexander Crowley (more famously known as Aleister Crowley). Thelemites (those who follow the magickal tenets of Crowley) refer to this special day as Crowley’s Greater Feast.

As a Thelemite, I always observe the Holy Days of Thelema, and earlier today remembered to meditate on the special energy of this day; however, at 11:34 pm (PST) the remembrance hit me full force. I felt his spirit must have left close to this time all those years ago.

Of course, today’s observance of the anniversary of Crowley’s death is extra special, as it’s also the day of a rare Jupiter/Venus Conjunction, an Astrological signifier of blissful union.

After looking over the Astrological Chart of Crowley’s death (December 1st, 1947), I saw that the Sun was at 9 Degrees in the sign of Sagittarius. I suddenly realized that this exactly conjoined one of my karmic planets at the exact degree. No wonder the path of Thelema called out to me so strongly in this incarnation!

In closing, I’d like to end this post with one of the more stirring passages from Crowley’s own Liber XV (The Gnostic Mass), wherein the Deacon of the Mass states:

“Unto them from whose eyes the veil of life hath fallen may there be granted the accomplishment of their true Wills; whether they will absorption in the Infinite, or to be united with their chosen and preferred, or to be in contemplation, or to be at peace, or to achieve the labour and heroism of incarnation on this planet or another, or in any Star, or aught else, unto them may there be granted the accomplishment of their wills; yea, the accomplishment of their wills. AUMGN. AUMGN. AUMGN.”

Wherever you are Frater Perdurabo, I hope you can see the beauty of the legacy that lives on in all of your magickal children.

Rare Jupiter-Venus-Moon Conjunction!

November 29th, 2008 by Voxx

Please find a way to light a candle or do a meditation on Harmony during this amazing Astrological event.

Here are some links for more info:

Jupiter/Venus Conjunction Info at NASA (with pix!)

More Info on Jupiter/Venus Conjunction at Godlike Forum

About the specialness of this time …

This rare conjunction is the Astrological counterpart of the Alchemical idea of the Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz (aka “Chymical Wedding” and/or “Chymische Hochzeit”). [Note: This has nothing to do with the ridiculous movie about the life of Aleister Crowley … so skip those links.]

On the night of the November 29th, 2008, Venus and Jupiter will be less than 3 degrees apart. (Conjunct)

This will be something very closer to the full conjunction of the above-mentioned “Chemical Wedding” of the Rosicrucian and Alchemical traditions.

The maximum amount of magickal/astrological energy will occur between November 29th from (5:00 pm EST/2:00 pm PST) through the next morning on November 30th from (4:30 am EST/1:30 am PST).

The following ritual can be used for magickal/tantric couples, as well as those who wish to align themselves cosmically with magickal currents of Harmony, Love, Joy and Peace.

This alignment also celebrates the 120 year tradition of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

Ritual:

Take two candles (1 gold, 1 silver), and place them touching one another. (Make sure both candles are place upon a protective metal sheet). Anoint them with Rose Oil; draw a Conjunction sign both candles, and light them. If you light them during a Venusian/Jupiterian hour — it’s all the better! Of course, if you’re in a relationship, or within a magickal order, you can all share the ritual simultaneously.

Then, when you light your candles say …

“May the benefit of this act, and all acts, be dedicated unto the Complete Liberation and the Supreme Enlightenment of all beings, everywhere, pervading space and time, so mote it be. May the benefits of practice, ours and others, come to fruition, ultimately and immediately, and we remain in a state of presence.” (You can also create your own statement).

Anyway, I hope some of you will take the time to perform at least some kind of acknowledgement of this very special time.

LVX,

Psychic Prediction: President Barack Obama!

November 4th, 2008 by Voxx

President Obama © Shepard Fairey
Greetings All,

It’s time again to publish my Official Psychic Prediction naming whom I believe will win the 2008 Presidential Election.

This prediction is very important to me, since it is this particular prediction which first brought me to public awareness back in the early 1990’s. In 1991, I was filmed by NBC TV (Los Angeles) to offer my prediction as to who would be the next President of the USA. I shocked the interviewer when I predicted (accurately) that Bill Clinton would become the next President, and would serve for two terms. This prediction was made before Clinton was hardly a blip on the national political scene. Needless to say, we all know how that election turned out.

So, without further adieu — I present my prediction.

The new President of the United States of America is …

BARACK OBAMA !

Click the following link for details on the in-depth Presidential Tarot Reading that accompanied my Psychic Prediction.

Suffice it to say that the final card I drew on this momentous election was none other than the 9 of Cups — the card of Happiness!

Congratulations President Obama! I’m glad to be the first Psychic to welcome you to your new office of President of the United States of America! May you serve our country with Health, Wisdom and Joy.

Aleister Crowley: Birthday of the Beast

October 12th, 2008 by Voxx

All hail Crowleymass, for today is the birthday of the most notorious Magus of modern times, Aleister Crowley. It was exactly 133 years ago today that Edward Alexander Crowley was born in Leamington Spa, England.  (See Crowley’s Astrological Chart).

It is also my personal, magickal opinion that Crowley is the singular most important Magician responsible for the explosion interest and practice of Magick and the Occult as we know it today.

Still, there are many who would argue that other figures, such as Eliphas Levi (Alphonse Louis Constant) were better qualified for the title of “Father of Modern Occultism”, but then again — Crowley himself claimed to be a reincarnation of Levi, thus winning by default.  Of course, that is if you even believe in the concept of reincarnation in the first place.

All that notwithstanding, today I wish to thank Crowley for all his hard work and dedication in teaching the ways of the Magus.  He did this by leaving behind a tremendous body of work in the form of his magickal writings and artwork, which include such masterpieces as The Equinox, and The Book of Thoth Tarot.  Still, it was the psychic reception of The Book of the Law, which turned out to be his singularly most important written work.  This book in particular is responsible for bringing awareness to the 93rd Current, a magickal current associated with the dawn of the Age of Horus, the age we are experiencing at this time in history.

I’ve been reading and studying Crowley’s works since I was a child — being lucky enough to have a mother who was a student of the Occult herself.  In fact, it was my mother who bought me my first Thoth deck back in 1977, knowing it would be a treasure to me for the rest of of my life.  She was right.  In my mind, it is certain that Crowley is responsible for my success in this life, for it was through not only the study, but the application of his ideas and writings that I honed the ability to help and heal others through my work as a Psychic, Astrologer and teacher of the Occult.

Studying Crowley’s works eventually led to my initiation into the Ordo Templi Orientis many years ago, where I’ve been honored to learn and perform Magick with some of the most incredibly talented Magicians on the planet, such as the late Grady McMurtry (Hymaneus Alpha), the late David Paul Wilson (aka S. Jason Black) and Lon DuQuette amongst others.

I have always known that I came to this earth for a purpose, and I am grateful to have discovered it early in this life.  I am here to access the invisible magickal planes and try to bring knowledge, wisdom and understanding to those whose souls have spun into my personal orbit, just as I receive the same gifts in return from them.

With that said, I continue to pay homage to Aleister Crowley, the Man, Mage and Poet.  Despite any and all of his personal flaws as a human, he endeavored to perform the Great Work, famously vowing to, “endure to the end”.  He most certainly did, and his important legacy continues to this day.  Happy 133rd Birthday Aleister.  Long live the Mage!

Saturn in Virgo: Lessons From Hygeia

September 15th, 2008 by Voxx

Seeing that Saturn will be in Virgo for awhile longer, I thought you all might benefit from learning a bit more about this placement.

For starters, the planet Saturn rules the bones, skull, teeth, and interestingly enough, the Ajna and Muladara Chakras (the 3rd Eye and Groin chakras, respectively).

The Zodiac Sign Virgo rules the intestines, nutrition, skin (via its planetary ruler Mercury), and the Svadisthana Chakra (the abdomen).

With these ideas in mind, it might be a good time to use the discipline (Saturn) to do something constructive (Virgo), such as get a medical checkup, or go to the dentist, and start taking better care of yourself.  To that end, I thought I’d share a story with you about how I recently paid homage to the ancient Greek Goddess, Hygeia, the patron of health and hygiene.

I decided to take my own advice (always a good idea when you’re psychic), and finally sought out someone I could trust with my health.  I started by going to Dr. William Dorfman (of Extreme Makeover fame).  My old friend Michael Thurmond (the trainer from EM), had suggested I give Dorfman a call, which I reluctantly did.

Nothing could have prepared me for the positive experience that unfolded as a result.  Of course, having the Moon in Capricorn crossing over my Ascendant must have helped.   I was scheduled to have an appointment with one of Dr. Dorfman’s dental hygienists and started getting nervous.

When I finally arrived at the office, I was pleasantly surprised by the cheerful and amazingly professional staff.  Of course, Dr. Dorfman was kind, and very informative — mapping out a course of care that would have me feeling and looking great in no time.  I was scheduled to return the next day.

When I returned for my follow-up appointment, I was introduced to a lovely lady named Iris.  I decided to unleash all my phobias and concerns, and found Iris looking directly at me with what I noticed were her piercing violet-grey eyes.  I could tell she realized she was dealing with someone who was overly sensitive (aren’t all psychics?)  Anyway, it didn’t take long for us to create a good rapport, for which I was grateful.

Working on physical bodies has to be a very difficult job, but still I really believe that a good doctor or healer is able to convey a sense of real concern, and make the patient feel as positive and comfortable as possible.  To that end, somewhere in between the chiseling and the nitrous oxide, Iris and I bonded big-time.  The nice thing was that we still had that rapport even after the nitrous wore off.  I had made a new friend.  Strangely enough, it turned out that I even knew of her son, and we shared a few other acquaintances as well.

It just goes to show what positive experiences can unfold from even such a tough planetary placement as Saturn in Virgo.  With this combination, doing one’s duty, taking care of business (including one’s health), can bring a sense of accomplishment and emotional satisfaction.

I suggest tuning in to your worst fears and addressing them consciously.  Then, just like that other famous goddess Nike, (the Greek Goddess of Victory) said — “Just do it!”

And of course, if you have the same fear of dentists that I have (as well as so many others), you need look no further than Dr. Dorfman’s office; and once there, make sure to schedule your nitrous session with Iris, for the love of your pearly whites.  Thanks Iris!

(By the way, this post is a non-paid endorsement … I just wanted to express my thanks!)

Total Solar Eclipse 2008: Dragon-Eating Moon

August 1st, 2008 by Voxx

Don’t forget to watch the Solar Eclipse via the internet at 3:21 am (PDT).  (Click the NASA link at the bottom of this post to watch the eclipse via live-streaming). The New Moon will be in Leo at 9 Degrees (the exact degree of the Sun, which is what causes an eclipse in the first place).

This eclipse concerns me greatly, as it occurs within one degree of some very inauspicious Fixed Stars.  According to ancient star lore, here is a bit of info:

South Asellus:  8° Leo 35 – Asellus is considered unfortunate, and it’s energy is related to both the Sun and Mars.  In particular, this star concerns military preferment, blindness, eye trouble, shipwreck, mass murder, horrors, self-willed, unwillingness to cooperate

Giansar:  10° Leo 20 – Although Giansar is considered a “neutral” energy, it’s connection to Saturn and Mars, causes additional concern, as it shows danger of robbery and accidental poisoning.

This particular eclipse threatens to dethrone, maim and kill emperors, rulers and those who are in high authoritative positions.  Not only that, but the influence of eclipses is generally felt for up to 6 months afterward!  Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

For anyone with any planets at 6 to 12 degrees Leo, there is no doubt that major changes are underway.  Time to get it together — it’s going to be a bumpy ride alright!

UPDATE:  I was up until sunrise, performing a New Moon in Leo ritual, using my Scrying Mirror to catch the the Moon’s magnificence.  I’ll be posting some pix soon.  Seriously, I haven’t felt this much energy from an eclipse since 1991.  The view was exhilarating, even if it was only caught on my television.  Now, we have 4 planets in the sign of Leo, which promises this to be a very historical time, that will no doubt begin immediately.

Happy Birthday Kate Bush

July 31st, 2008 by Voxx

Today is the 50th birthday of one of my favorite artists, Kate Bush. She found fame as a teenager with her first hit, “Wuthering Heights“, in 1978 (despite never having read it at the time!) Kate’s music is a favorite backdrop for many of my pagan friends as well.

The photo I’m using for this post is one of my favorites of Kate, taken from the cover of one of her earliest biographies. I’ll be adding more links to this post soon. Until then, Happy Birthday Kate, and many happy returns.

The Sun in Leo

July 22nd, 2008 by Voxx

The Sun’s movement into the zodiac sign of Leo is the true beginning of Summer, at least as far as I’m concerned. Now is the time when we really feel the power of the sun’s rays, and the build-up of Summer heat. As Leo is a Fire Sign, it’s no wonder that there tends to be an increase in fires at this time of year (although I truly hope that’s not the case this year — still I know better by now!)

The Sun is the source of all life on Earth, and as such lends its intense energy to whatever zodiacal sign it happens to be passing through. The Sun rules the 5th House of the Zodiac, which is governed by the sign of Leo. The 5th House concerns the subjects of Romance, Creativity and Children, as well as Gambling and games of chance.

Those born between the dates of July 22nd through August 21st are born under the sign of Leo, whose zodiacal emblem is the lion. Thus, those who are born during this solar phase bear the “traits of the Lion” as a result. For more info on the Sun and its rulership of Leo, please visit the Voxx Magickal School site. I hope you all enjoy the Season of Fire responsibly.
