Bael: Goetia Spirit of the Week

March 24th, 2007 by Voxx

Baal best picAbout Bael: Bael, is the first Principal Spirit mentioned in the The Lemegeton, (aka The Lemegeton, and The Lesser Key of Solomon). He is a mighty and powerful King who rules in the East. Bael’s original name was Bel, (and according to some, Bal.) Bel was first known as the most ancient God of the Babylonians. Interesting how gods are denounced by “newer” religions, and always vilified later as “demons”.

Qabalistic Attributions: Bael is associated with the tarot card, The Two of Wands, and the Astrological Planetary attribution of Mars in Aries.

Bael’s Appearance: When properly evoked, Bael will appear in any of several diverse shapes, such as: A Cat, a Toad, or a Man — sometimes he even appears in the shape of all three at the same time! When and if he deems to communicate with the Magician (usually via the Psychic faculty of Clairaudience), his voice will sound hoarse and scratchy.

If you should ever be desirous of evoking Bael, you should wear his Lamen (spirit sigil), before calling upon him, (as with all the Goetia Spirits, in general).

baelBLKPowers of Bael: Bael is primarily known for bestowing the dubious gift of “invisibility”. This can be advantageous in certain circumstances, however the Magician needs to be especially careful. I have personally known Magicians who have suffered accidents due to the fact that they were “invisible” to an on-coming car! Proceed with caution.

Advice to the Magician: Before dealing with Bael (or any spirit possessing the noble title of King), I would suggest you ensure that you’ve already performed quite a few other evocations properly. It’s bad enough to make a mistake when dealing with a less powerful spirit, and the “Big Boys” of the Goetia have reportedly made mincemeat out of many an untrained Magician.

Goetia Magick Classes: If you’d like formal instruction on how to work safely and sanely with the Goetia Spirits, feel free to contact me for further info.

Goetia Magick Spellkits & Store: To safely conjure a Goetia Spirit, you should purchase an authentic Goetia Magick Spellkit. There are 72 kits to choose from (one for each of the 72 Spirits), and each one comes with everything you need to perform a successful evocation, plus detailed instructions. There are three versions to choose from, so contact me for more info.

Angelina Jolie, Voodoo Priestess?

March 8th, 2007 by Voxx

angelina jolie voodooAccording to news reports, Angelina Jolie has become infatuated with the Voudoun religion, more popularly known as Voodoo.

It would be interesting to find out from a reliable source just which Voodoo tradition Angelina is interested in, as she is purportedly currently studying with a Voudoun Priestess. I can only hope Angie is being guided faithfully by a true Initiate.

The Voudoun Religion: Largely unknown to the general public, there are several traditions of Voodoo to choose from. Santeria is the most commonly known, although there are the additional Voodoo practices of Palo Mayombe or Macumba, the latter of which are most closely descended from the ancient religion of Nigeria.

It hardly surprises me that Angelina would become interested in such a primal, ancient religion. After all, Angelina has several planets in the zodiac sign of Aries (ruled by the planet Mars), which makes her open-minded about experiencing all manner of intriguing philosophies, as well as the performance of spiritual practices which are considered untraditional by the general American public.

Angelina the Pioneer: Although Angelina was born a Gemini, she has the Moon, Mars, and Jupiter all conjunct in the sign of Aries, the Ram. Aries is ruled by the planet Mars, which in turn rules the blood (See Liber 777, by Aleister Crowley). The connection between blood and Voodoo is no small detail, as the blood sacrifice of various animals is an integral part of the Voudoun religion.

Now, before you get it all twisted, the practice of Voodoo is an ancient practice, and is in essence, a Pagan religion. As such, blood sacrifice in this context is not to be considered evil, nor demonic.*

Seeking Spiritual Solace: Since Angelina’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, recently passed away — it would be easy to see why Angie would seek to explore the Voudoun religion, as it offers a chance to commune with the spirits of the dead in a more palpable way than almost any other faith. I hope that Angie will receive some healing through her whatever religion brings her peace of mind.

For those interested in learning more about the Voodoo religion, please feel free to contact me regarding classes and helpful links. I will post more info on this subject soon.

* [Note: For my Christian readers, it would be wise to remember that it was the good son Abel’s sacrifice of livestock that pleased the Lord the most.]

Moon Magick & Eclipses

March 3rd, 2007 by Voxx

s moonPerforming magickal rituals during an eclipse can be pretty tricky business. It is best for beginning Magicians to perform their spells during Waxing to “regular” Full Moons.

For seasoned practitioners, Black Magicians and Necromancers, of course the upcoming Blood Moon is perfect for such purposes as Seances, Spirit Evocation (not Goetia spirits though), Dark Angelic works, Enochian, Scrying in the Spirit Vision, Consecration of destructive talismans, and the like.

I’m sure the Vampyre Community has something interesting conjured up for the evening’s festivities, lol.

Remember to pay attention to the fact that doing any rituals tonight may have a negative impact on your life, depending on your astrological chart. The Full Moon is in Virgo, so rituals at this time can affect your 6th and 3rd Houses negatively — just remember to be careful.

For Necromancers, I’d suggest being extra cautious about contamination — spiritual and otherwise, during this most inauspicious Lunar phase.

If you’d like to learn more about Astrology and it’s importance in the practice of Moon Magick, contact me directly.

Eclipse Magick: Many magicians choose to do their most powerful spells during a special astronomical event known as an eclipse. Just as the sign of the Moon affects the power of rituals and worldly events, there is an additional twist when the Lunar eclipse happens in a particular sign.

Causes of a Lunar Eclipse: A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth’s shadow falls on the moon. Lunar eclipses occur, on average, about every 6 months.

Types of Lunar Eclipses: A Total Eclipse happens when the entire moon enters the Earth’s umbra (the darkest part of its shadow.)

Partial Eclipse: A Partial Eclipse happens when only part of the moon enters the Earth’s umbra.

Duration of Lunar Eclipses: During an average total lunar eclipse, the moon is within the Earth’s umbra for about an hour. This is called totality.

Frequency of Lunar Eclipses: Since the plane of the moon’s orbit is inclined about 5 Degrees from the plane of the Earth’s orbit, lunar eclipses are relatively infrequent. There are about two lunar eclipses each year, visible somewhere on Earth.
